World leaders congratulate Turkish President Erdogan on his ‘success’ in reelection.

On Sunday, world leaders rushed to social media to celebrate Turkish President Recap Tayyip Endogen, who has a strong lead in the presidential runoff for reelection.

“My dear brother, congratulations on your victory, and I wish you success in your new term, and that you achieve what the brotherly Turkish people aspire to in terms of progress and prosperity,” Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani tweeted.

Hungarian President Katalin Novak welcomed Erdogan as well, adding she looks forward to working with him to enhance their bilateral relationship.

“Turkey’s stability is crucial for Europe, and it can play an important role in achieving peace in Ukraine,” she wrote on Twitter.

Hungary’s Prime Minister Viktor Orban congratulated President Erdogan “on his unquestionable election victory!”

“Congratulations, brotherly and friendly Turkey,” Somalia’s President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud’s office tweeted. “I extend heartfelt congratulations to my brother, President @RTErdogan, on his successful re-election!” stated Somalia’s Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre. “This demonstrates our confidence in and support for your leadership.” We look forward to seeing our two brotherly nations’ connections strengthen and our countries develop.”

‘A world leader with politics anchored in public service’

Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shabazz Sharif congratulated Endogen, calling him “one of the few world leaders whose politics has been anchored in public service.”

In a phone conversation, Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev also congratulated Erdogan on his reelection and offered him to visit Baku, the Azerbaijani capital.

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Prime Minister Salam Shtayyeh thanked Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the Turkish people on their “election victory.”

Libyan Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh said Erdogan’s win demonstrates that people’s trust in his successful initiatives and policies has been restored.

Endogen and the Turkish people were also congratulated by Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic on their election triumph.

Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev thanked Erdogan on the occasion during a phone conversation.
President Milo Dukanovic of Montenegro complimented Erdogan and asked for continued growth in bilateral ties.

Georgian President Irakli Garibanhvili complimented Erdogan on his “convincing re-election as President of Türkiye.”

“We are eager to strengthen the bonds of friendship and strategic partnership,” he tweeted.

‘Historic triumph’

Milorad Dodik, the head of Bosnian Serbs, hailed Erdogan on his “historical victory” in the country’s first-ever presidential run-off.

“Voters chose you as their leader once more!” This election result is significant not just for the Republic of Turkiye, but for the whole globe!” he said on Twitter.

Algerian President Abdelmajid Tebboune was among those who congratulated Erdogan on his reelection “victory.”

According to Ahmet Yener, chairman of the Supreme Election Council (YSK), Erdogan leads the runoff election with 53.41% of the vote, while opposition candidate Kemal Kilicdaroglu has 46.59%, with 75.42% of the ballots counted.

More over 64.1 million Turkish residents were registered to vote, with over 1.92 million having already voted in abroad polling sites.

Across Türkiye, about 192,000 ballot boxes were put up for voters.

On May 14, no contender received 50% of the vote in the first round, necessitating the presidential runoff, despite Endogen led with 49.52%.Erdogan’s electoral coalition also secured a majority of seats in parliament on that day.
