Brady Leman signed off from a decorated ski cross career in style with a World Cup victory in his final ever race on home snow.

The veteran Canadian, 36, is retiring at the end of this season but bowed out in perfect fashion with a win in the last event of the campaign in Craigleith.

The 2018 Olympic champion beat French star Youri Duplessis Kergomard and Switzerland’s Joos Berry to the top spot on the podium as fellow Canadian Reece Howden, who could only finish ninth, collected the Crystal Globe.

Leman’s triumph marked the sixth World Cup victory of his career and 32nd overall podium.

He finished the ski cross season in fifth, 371 points behind Howden who won events in Innichen, Idre Fjall and Craigleith – on Friday – to clinch the overall crown.

Marielle Berger Sabbatel claimed victory in the women’s event after super Swede Sandra Naslund wrapped up the Crystal Globe earlier in the season.

French ace Sabbatel beat home favourites Marielle Thompson and Brittany Phelan to victory but it’s been all about Naslund this term, who remarkably won all of the first nine events – and World Championship gold – to soar to the title in splendid isolation.

Beijing Olympic champion Naslund beat Fanny Smith, who finished fourth in Saturday’s final event of the season, to the Crystal Globe by 209 points as Thompson finished closely behind in third.
