Somali Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre was among thousands of delegates attending the African Development Bank’s annual gathering in Sharm El-Sheikh.

The key AfDB conference, which began on Monday and will conclude on Friday, is themed “Mobilising Private Sector Financing for Climate and Green Growth in Africa.”

The prime minister will be among the leaders debating a sustainable future for Africans and how to solve the difficult issues confronting the continent’s banks.

“In this time of real global challenges, Somalia is making clear progress through determined economic reforms, and we are committed to delivering a better future for our resilient people,” Barre added.

With the collaboration of governments and relevant sectors, including private big banks, the AfDB is developing real solutions for inclusive, sustainable growth in Africa.

Furthermore, the African Development Bank argues for greater deconcentration of official development aid as well as a stronger role for regional multilateral development banks.

Participants will debate ways to achieve more strong nominal growth, build a financial system that helps local firms, and outline a debt strategy for African nations to allow them to mobilise additional resources.
